Community Center Classes
Build A Miracle offers a variety of educational and extracurricular classes for people of all ages free of charge.
Everyone is welcome at the Community Center. By promoting and providing education, we hope that the people in the homes we build will be the last generation to grow up in poverty. Through the support they receive at the Community Center, the children in our homes and throughout the neighborhood are able to study and choose successful careers that they never would have imagined were possible.
We offer classes in English, Spanish, math, reading, art, computer training, and robotics, as well as a variety of extracurricular classes and tutoring for people of all ages in all school subjects!

Ever since I started going to zumba I feel very good, with more energy and less stress. Before attending, I would get very tired and I didn’t have the motivation to do anything. I only wanted to sleep and was without energy, but now I feel super good.

I am incredibly grateful for the support I receive from BAM, as it has made pursuing a university education much more attainable for me. I also want to express my sincere appreciation to the Community Center for opening its doors and providing me with the assistance I need. Thanks to their support, I have experienced personal growth and developed a stronger sense of empathy towards others. Whenever possible, I now strive to lend a helping hand, even in the smallest ways.

At the Community Center, you can see how people’s lives change for the better. I have been participating for 15 years and it is something that completely fills me. Here we are blessed to be able to come together to improve our lives, education, and diet.

Program Highlights
The Robotics Program
The Robotics Club helps kids of all ages as well as adults learn about technology and innovation in a creative way. We offer basic, intermediate and advanced level classes. In the program, the students learn all about robots, mechanics, electronics, circuits, motors, and using various tools. One of the students’ favorite activities in the Robotics Club is putting everything they learn into practice and building their own robots.
In 2019, a group from our Community Center entered their robot in a national tournament. We were able to fund them to travel to Mexico City with their robot to compete. We are so proud of them!
At the Community Center, I continue to participate in the robotics workshop, however, no longer as a student, but rather a teacher. It brings me joy to share the knowledge I have acquired with these young people. I feel happy when I am able to teach something to one of my students, knowing that they have the opportunity to learn something they are passionate about. Perhaps one of them will discover their own passion through one of the robotics workshop classes, just as I did.

The Nutrition Program
The objective of the nutrition program is to improve the health and well-being of families in our communities. In the classes, they discuss eating healthy and how to make conscientious food choices on a budget. They learn about nutrients and dietary recommendations as well as how to make different types of soy-based foods (an affordable protein option). They also work in the vegetable garden at the Community Center and learn about composting.
