The Baking Program
Our baking classes are taught by Cecilia, who lives in BAM house #86.
Meet Ceci
If you have been on a build day, you may have tasted something baked by Ceci. She has been involved with BAM for a long time. Before she even received her home, she would come to our Community Center to help bake treats for volunteers.
The Program
Now Ceci shares her gift by teaching classes at the Community Center. In the Baking Program, people learn to bake bread and other bakery items and then sell their baked goods in their communities or in expos at the Community Center.
In baking, many people have learned to do a lot of things and now can make their own little businesses. Now they can sell things like cakes and bread in their house. It is great for people like myself who didn’t have much of an education, but now they have a trade, a trade through which they can help their family. This lifts the whole family up because perhaps the salary of the husband is not enough.
