Sponsor a Student

It is remarkable that 22 kids who were once living shacks are now at university – 3 have already graduated! It is the dream of Build a Miracle to break the cycle of poverty in these neighborhoods through education. This is why families are required to have their kids in school in order to receive a home and then we support them through our many programs at the community center. We give scholarships to as many students in high school and college as possible.

The students below are still in need of either a high school or college scholarship.

If you would like to sponsor a specific student for a year, just donate the appropriate amount and put their name in the message section to let us know.

Hello my name is Jesus Alberto Beltran Angulo. I am 24 years old, I work, and am a university student. I passed the high school GED exam by taking classes at the community center and now I help other adults by teaching high school education classes there. My goal is to help them pass the high school exam as well.

This year I will be starting college at the UABC Baja California State University as a Nursing Major and I need your support to be able to achieve my goal, which is to help my family move forward and give a better education to my children. Thank you for the support I receive and the education I obtain.

Lorenzo, Luis and Leonel are triplets. They are some of the most amazing students we have ever met. They come from a family with 5 children. They live with their parents and 2 older brothers, one of whom is 25 and handicapped – He can’t walk or talk and is cared for by the family.

The triplets are seniors in high school. They are amazing and will be famous some day. They are incredibly hard working and talented.

The reason they will become famous is because of their art work. The work they do is remarkable. They have even met with the governor of Baja.

Besides that, they are straight A students and star basketball players who will enter college in the fall of 2014.
They need help to pay for their college because their parents cannot afford it.

My name is Rafael, I am 15 years old and I am asking for a scholarship to continue my studies because my parents do not have enough money to cover the costs that I have at school. I want to finish school and have a career and profession in order to have a better life and help my parents . I like to help out at the community center in the computer lab. I once took classes there and now I like to help the other students because I benefited so much from my experience. My dad works at a tire shop and my mom stays home with us. I have 3 brothers, my first brother is 12 years old going into seventh grade, the second is 6 years and going into first grade, and the third is 2 years old.

Thank you very much for taking the time to read this!

My name is Christian Sanchez de Lima and I am 18 years old and am in my third year of high school. I would like to thank you for considering me for a scholarship.

The reason I am requesting support with a scholarship is because we are poor and in my family, there are 4 of us studying right now. My dad used to recycle cardboard for a living, but now thanks to Build a Miracle, he has his own business selling rice and beans at the swap meets. Thanks for your help.

I’m Guadalupe Morales Rodriguez. I am almost finished with middle school and want to go to high school. For this reason, I am asking for support for my education.

I have been volunteering in the community center with Selene, the psychologist.
I’m 15 years old and would like the scholarship because my family consists of my mom and dad and 7 brothers and sisters, and my dad does not have regular work.

I am interested in pursuing a career as a psychologist in order to help others as much as I can. I think with a good career, I would be able to do this.

Thanks for your support
